DealLaunch vs Attio

Attio is a well-built CRM for a team managing a pipeline it owns: a flexible data model, a relationship graph assembled from connected mailboxes, and AI across the whole record. DealLaunch is an execution system for a mandate you run on somebody else's behalf - finding the people, approaching them at volume from your own address, controlling what they can read, and reporting to the client every week. The useful question is not which is the better CRM. It is whether the work in front of you is a pipeline or a process.

DealLaunch excels at

  • A whole approach wave leaves in one sitting. Attio publishes a limit of 12 emails an hour and 200 a day for each connected mailbox, and no single send above 50 recipients on any plan. Going to market on a raise or a buyer list is a decision taken on Tuesday, not a queue that drips through the week.
  • Sends from the mailbox the firm actually runs. Attio is not an email provider and sends through a connected Gmail or Microsoft 365 account. DealLaunch adds any SMTP mailbox with an app password, which is what a boutique on Zoho or a hosted Exchange needs, because the partner's own address is the entire basis of the approach.
  • The client reads the weekly report without a seat in your system. Attio shares dashboards inside the workspace, so showing a client means letting them in. DealLaunch generates the report as a PDF or PowerPoint, or a link you can revoke.
  • Teaser and CIM go out as per-recipient links, every page stamped with the reader's name, firm and date, every open recorded, and any link withdrawn in one click.
  • The mandate arrives configured. Stages, NDA state, materials and the client on the other side are already modelled, rather than a schema somebody at the firm designs and then maintains.
  • One price for the firm. Attio charges per seat, and puts sequences and custom objects on its higher tier, so the two things an outreach-led firm needs most sit where it costs most.

Attio excels at

  • A genuinely better data model. Objects and lists let one record carry different fields and a different stage in each list, and a firm that wants to model something unusual can.
  • A relationship graph that builds itself from connected mailboxes and calendars, working out who at the firm knows whom with no data entry at all.
  • Far more AI surface: research and enrichment agents, an assistant across the whole record, and call intelligence.
  • Cheaper for one person, and you can start this afternoon. Attio has a free tier and self-serve sign-up, where DealLaunch reviews every account by hand.
  • A large integration marketplace and a first-party product for venture capital deal flow.

If the work is a pipeline you own, Attio is the better product and it is not close. If the work is a process you run for somebody else - a few hundred approaches out of your own address this month, documents you can prove who opened, and a report the client reads on Monday without logging in - that is a different job. Some firms keep Attio for the relationships and run the mandate here.
